Newton Tree Conservancy Announces New President

During its annual meeting in December, 2024, president Joe Drake announced director Doug Herrick would assume the office of president of the Newton Tree Conservancy' (NTC), effective January 1, 2025. Joe guided the NTC with passion and a steady hand for the last five years. He will remain as an active director on the board of the NTC.

Doug has volunteered with the Newton Tree Conservancy for several years, and has been a director since 2021. He has guided many neighborhood planting groups, has been an active pruner of trees planted with the NTC, has participated in several public events as a representative of the NTC, and replaced with an online application the NTC's tree application process, while assuming management of the NTC's Community Tree Planting program.
