NEWTON TREE CONSERVANCY MONTHLY MEETING – Monday, July 17, 2017

5pm, at Parks & Recreation office, Kennard Park, Dudley Road, Newton (south of Rt 9). Meetings are generally the third Monday of the month. Visitors who would like to become more involved or learn more, are welcome.

DCR TREE STEWARD TRAINING – October 13-14, 2017, Petersham, MA

Each fall, the Massachusetts Urban and Community Forestry Program, the Massachusetts Tree Wardens’ and Foresters’ Association , and the USDA Forest Service host a training for Tree Board members, tree activists, interested citizens, Tree Wardens and other green professionals. This two-day program at Harvard Forest in Petersham, MA, provides foundation instruction in tree physiology, tree care, and other urban and community forestry issues with the aim of developing better tree stewardship in Massachusetts communities of all sizes.

NEW ENGLAND GROWS – November 29-December 1, 2017

New England Grows, the annual trade show in Boston for horticulture and arboriculture, includes educational programs of interest to tree-lovers, and is a great opportunity to check out products like tree pruning tools. More information is available here.
